Managing Physical AilmentsScience can no longer deny that there is a link between behavior
and biology. Often times a disease in the body is a metaphor for
something being felt emotionally. When the body is experiencing
chronic anxiety for example, an imbalance in brain chemistry can
result, due to the constant release of chemicals, such as
adrenaline. So when the traditional medical community reports a
disease as a chemical imbalance, they are correct. However, the
source of the challenge may be found in the connection between mind
and body. Of course, this is not to say that there is no need for
medicine, but it is now time for us to look at physical disease as
something that we can actively impact in a new way. Now, think of our DNA as a chain that directs how the body functions. When pressure is put on a chain, the weakest link in that chain is going to be the first to become malformed and possibly break. We all have our own unique weakest link that responds when we stress that chain. Some people develop a cold, or a skin condition, or in a more powerful form an auto-immune disorder or worse. The first step should be to ease the tension on that link in order to relieve the symptoms.
